Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. She is the owner and the president of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss hails from California, was raised in an exceptionally wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and was later a part owner of the Lakers and various other sports organizations. When her parents broke up in 1972 she felt that they had abandoned her. Her family's business was started when she was 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice president of the Lakers. Buss, her five brothers and sisters and their father, who owned the Lakers and ruled them until his passing away in 2013, received this ownership by way of an estate. The five siblings had equal the right to vote. Buss assumed the role of the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotion company that is based in Los Angeles.
